BOICEVILLE COTTAGES

Inspired by the Barbara Cooney illustrations in "Miss Rumphius," a children's book he read to his daughters, Bruno Schickel designed and built Boiceville Cottages beginning in 1996. Since then, Schickel Construction Company has built 140 of the tiny house rentals, staged on the 60 acre property in groups of three. Always fond of bold and happy colors, Bruno painted each trio of houses in a unique color scheme, using over 50 Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore paint colors. The effect is striking. Schickel Construction Co. completed construction at Boiceville Cottages in 2016, and are now starting a second tiny house development on Seneca Lake.
